Commercial Assistant

Reports To: Commercial Manager

Primary Responsibilities:

1.     Commercial

  • Support the Commercial Manager with the management of the company’s commercial offer including the pricing and commercial agreements it enters in to with its partners. 
  • Support Commercial Manager with the review, calculation, implementation and communication of the pricing of new and existing products by reference to competitor activity, market positioning and movements in the company’s cost base. 
  •  Work closely with the Business Systems team and the customer base to ensure systems are maintained and accurate with product and pricing data. 
  • Undertake commercial analysis and provide stakeholders around the business with direction and recommendations on the right commercial decisions for the business.
  • Work closely with marketing colleagues in generating appropriate collateral to support promotions, product launches and the ongoing activity of the sales team. 
  • Provide commercial support to new business tenders and the activity of the external and internal sales team.

2.     Product Management 

  • Identifying opportunities to develop, strengthen and/or rationalise the cable and cable management product offer.
  • Identifying and delivering promotional opportunities to drive incremental sales and margin.
  • Monitoring, reporting and commentating on sales and margin performance monthly by reference to the agreed sales forecast.
  • Maintaining an awareness of market / competitor activity (product, price, promotions, etc.).

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Essential: 

  • Educated to Degree level in a relevant business discipline (e.g. Business Studies, Business Management, Finance)
  • A strong commercial acumen and entrepreneurial approach
  • Strong analytical skills with a thorough and accurate approach to work
  • Computer literate with advanced Microsoft Excel skills 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage well with multiple stakeholders and business functions. 
  • Drive, ambition, and enthusiasm to deliver results and progress within the organisation

Desirable: 

  • 12+ months relevant work experience
