Marketing Manager

Location  Luton, Bedfordshire

Reports To: Commercial Director

Mission: To contribute to the continuous improvement of the marketing function, taking a proactive role in defining and executing the company’s marketing strategy and all associated activities, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for all marketing activity and initiatives for multiple brands and product categories supplied into the electrical wholesale and retail DIY channels.  Reporting to a director and responsible for a team of 2 x marketing executives engaged in the following activities: 

  1. Digital Media
  • Developing and executing the company’s digital strategy to include website, social media, email, advertising and PR
  1. Marketing Collateral
  • Defining and delivering all marketing collateral (catalogues, brochures, flyers, posters, price lists, packaging, POS, etc.) to the highest standard in accordance with the company’s product/channel strategy and brand guidelines, ensuring their accuracy and effectiveness
  1. Advertising and PR
  • Determining and implementing the company’s online and offline advertising and PR strategy, ensuring it is targeted and creates maximum exposure for the company and its brands
  1. General
  • Defining, validating and seeking budgetary approval for the annual marketing plan, in consultation with key stakeholders, and in support of the company’s channel and product strategy and key objectives
  • Measuring and reporting the performance of activities, identifying trends and insights, and optimising marketing strategy to deliver maximum impact and results
  • Project managing and coordinating all marketing activities and initiatives, working cross functionally with stakeholders across the business to ensure on time delivery
  • Ensuring effective use of all available marketing tools to promote and support each of the brands and product categories    

What we are looking for:

  • Educated to A Level or equivalent
  • Degree in Marketing or Business Studies or CIM Qualification
  • 5+ years B2B marketing management experience within an FMCG business
  • Experience of wholesale and retail distribution
  • Excellent communication, presentation and organisation skills
  • Attention to detail and a thorough and accurate approach to work
  • Strong interpersonal and people management skills
  • Customer focussed with the ability to build strong rapport
  • Strong project management and problem solving skills
  • Resourceful and lateral thinking with a proactive approach to tasks
  • Ability to work effectively in a high pressure and deadline driven environment
  • Drive, ambition and enthusiasm to deliver results
  • Computer literate with strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
