Product Manager

Department: Marketing

Location: Luton, Bedfordshire

Reports To: Commercial Director

Primary Responsibilites:

To contribute to the continuous growth of the company through effective and profitable management of the Deta product portfolio.  Specific responsibilities to include:

  • Determining product strategy and managing the product lifecycle for the Deta product portfolio
  • Identifying opportunities to expand the product portfolio with complementary products and ranges 
  • Maintaining an awareness of competitor products, ranges and routes to market
  • Working closely with the Purchasing, Technical and Marketing teams in successfully executing product strategies
  • Determining and delivering product marketing communications 
  • Management of product pricing by reference to market forces and competitor activity
  • Supporting the sales and specification teams in maximising sales opportunities for the product portfolio
  • Determining and coordinating all activities associated with promotional activities and the launch of new products and ranges
  • Providing necessary product, market and competitor information and training to colleagues across the business as required

What we are looking for:

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a Product Management role (preferably with products sold through the electrical wholesale channel) and with a proven track record
  • Ability to work effectively in high pressure and deadline driven situations 
  • Strong project management and problem solving skills. 
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a thorough and accurate approach to work
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in both a team environment and on own
  • Customer focussed with the ability to build strong rapport
  • Resourceful and lateral thinking with a proactive approach to tasks
  • Excellent communication, presentation and organisation skills 
  • Computer literate with strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Drive, ambition and enthusiasm to deliver results and progress within the organisation
